Jennifer Lauren Childress was born on May 4, 1989 in Baytown, Texas. She was raised in Ames, Texas and graduated from Liberty High in 2007. Immediately after graduation, Jennifer enlisted in the United States Army and served for six years. Jennifer's greatest joys in life were "her boys." Jennifer poured her heart (and attitude) into being a mom and nanny. She loved traveling and shared her adventures with her family. After her time in the military, she enrolled at the University of Houston-Downtown to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice while working full-time with the Texas Veterans Commission. In 2014, she established a non-profit to help veterans defray costs associated with adopting and training service animals. Upon graduation from the University of Houston-Downtown, Jennifer immediately joined their police academy program. On May 18, 2019, she received her Executive Master of Administration of Justice from Texas Southern University. In November 2020, Jennifer joined the Harris County Precinct 7 Constable's office full-time and was assigned to the Toll Road Division. She joined the Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority in November 2020. Jennifer was a NRA Instructor and LTC Instructor in 2021 and was currently working to open Billion's Gun Range. In fall 2021 she started working on her PhD. Jennifer was tragically killed in the line of duty April 2, 2022 while trying to apprehend a drunk driver. She lived an exemplary life devoted to service of others and loving her family. The Jennifer Childress Memorial Foundation has been established to honor her life and continue Jennifer’s legacy of service.
